Reza Farkhondeh

Artist based in New York & Paris

Reza Farkhondeh was born in Iran and now lives between New York & Paris. He studied Economics and then went on to complete a BFA in painting at Beaux-Arts de Dijon and an MFA in video and short film at Villa Arson in Nice. He also studied at the Institut des Hautes Études en Arts Plastiques in Paris.

Reza Farkhondeh has collaborated with Ghada Amer on several works and projects, and they have shown in group exhibitions including Hot off the Press (2006), Art Basel Miami, and All Editions in Singapore. Their solo shows include Collaborative Drawings at Kukje Gallery in Seoul, A New Collaboration on Paper at the Singapore Tyler Institute, Collaborative Drawings at Tina Kim Fine Arts in New York, and Roses off Limits at Pace Prints in New York.

Amer and Farkhondeh make work that explores all aspects of the collaborative project. Works might begin with Reza Farkhondeh and end with Ghada Amer, or vice-versa. In their painted works in particular, the elements of the image engage in a dynamic conversation that reflects not only a number of important themes but also the way in which the two artists work together.
